Aldona Kmieć, Winterbloom #77 (PEOPLE & PORTRAIT)

These fluid and bright photographs were made in the depths of winter during COVID-19 as an act of creative rebellion. I've used a freedom of colour and movement to create this series of visually captivating self-portraits. “During COVID-19 lockdowns I felt a block creatively. Our movements were limited, it was winter and we were effectively stuck inside. I went into the studio one day and tried something different – I moved, I danced, and these abstracted portraits captured a change in what I was feeling.”
