MARIA LLOYD, WATCHFUL EYES (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2026)

An intimate wildlife study captured in an open paddock on my rural property in Central Queensland. Pausing in the dry, sun-baked grass, a pair of eastern grey kangaroos stand completely alert, their watchful eyes locked directly on the lens. Framed against a dense backdrop of native eucalyptus trees, the image explores the quiet, constant vigilance of Australia's iconic wildlife within its natural home habitat.
