Peter Kinchington, Treeferns and Mountain Ash Forest (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT)
My favourite forest type taken in the Dandenong Ranges consists of tree ferns that are an echo from the ancient continent of Gondwanaland and the tallest flowering plant in the world the Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans) that can grow over 100 metres in height. Captured on 8x10in orthochromatic film to give an old world look. Exposure 1 hour @ f/90, 210mm lens.
