Nancy Flammea, The White Queen (PEOPLE & PORTRAIT 2024)
The white Queen. This lovely young lady with her milk white skin and wild blonde curls was the inspiration for one of my favourite historical figures Elizabeth Woodville, sometimes referred to as “The White Queen” Queen of England from her controversial marriage to King Edward IV in 1464 whom she met beneath an oak tree now known as the Queens oak which stood until fairly recently when it died after being burnt in 1997. She was a key figure in the War of the Roses, renowned for her beauty, accused of witchcraft, mother to the two Princes in the Tower and Grandmother to Henry VIII.
