Julia Howe, The Watchtower (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT)
This work depicts a lifesaving tower I stumbled upon on a morning walk, by myself, in the Gold coast. What caught my eye about this scene was the turbulent and foreboding sky. The sky churns behind the lifesaving tower ominously, making the tower appear precarious in its solitary position within the landscape. The scene resembles a juxtaposition in a way. The tower, a point of safety for beachgoers, looking unsettling and appearing threatened by it’s surroundings.
