Zeke Melloy, Star Crossed Lovers (PEOPLE & PORTRAIT 2025)
This photo 'Star Crossed Lovers' was taken to capture the feeling behind Romeo and Juliet in their unfortunate situation. This spin of the classic play, written by Shakespeare, shows an alternate timeline in which Romeo and Juliet couldn't be together. The choice to deliberately colour only the lovers was used to highlight that their love transcends the world they are in. This photo, originally would have been entered into the QLD Youth Shakefest competition but due to its unfortunate cancellation this year, entrants were required to find alternate competitions to enter their work in. My passion for photography started with my love for cars, which then extended to car photography and then expanded from there. I hope my photo invites you to see the message that love is stronger than physical bounds. This image was shot on a Canon EOS M50 with a Canon 15-45mm lens. Shot at 1/2500 shutter speed at F5.6. The Iso was set to 4000. Thankyou to my teachers, Ms Walsh and Mr Kao and my models, Will, Henry, and Hannah.
