MARIA LLOYD, SPIRIT IN THE HAZE (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2026)
An atmospheric study capturing the quiet aftermath of a low intensity hazard reduction burn on my property in Central Queensland. As the smoke filters through the canopy, the harsh afternoon sun softens into an ethereal light. Emerging like a ghost within the thick smoke haze, a lone kangaroo stands as a quiet, powerful symbol of wildlife survival and resilience amid a changing, smouldering landscape.
