This family lives just a few minutes from the beach, and most mornings they walk down there together with their little boy. It’s part of their everyday life — slow mornings, sea air, being outside, and starting the day connected to each other and the place they call home. I wanted to capture this because it felt so full of life and true to who they are. I asked the mother to swim out and dive from the platform while dad held their son in the foreground. Their little boy watching his mum, dad holding him close, the open water all around them — it became one of those moments that says so much without needing anything overdone. Freedom, trust, play, and family all held in the one frame. Film felt like the right way to photograph it because it reflects the ritual itself: slow, intentional, and present. You can’t overshoot or control every detail. You have to trust timing, instinct, and the things that unfold in front of you. That felt true to the way this family moves through their mornings together. To me, this image holds their connection to each other, nature, and to this fleeting season of raising a young child in a place where life happens outdoors.
