Brydie Piaf, Shaped by Wildfire (ART & CONCEPTUAL 2026)
A still life depicting an Australian summer of wildfires and their aftermath. A world where everyday objects are bent beyond recognition, skies are smoke filled and there's a singular blackened sun creating a yellow light to be wary of; yet regrowth also emerges. Green tendrils of hope. In this image, I've placed items around a ceramic piece that was shaped then fired in a BBQ, that quintessential Aussie object. As our fire seasons become longer and harder to manage, what do we need to do to adapt? To reshape the way we live with fire?
