Jason Keeler, Reduction Burn (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2025)

Taken from under our national A1 highway and perfectly framed by a culvert this burn-off was underway to reduce potential severity at a later date by reducing the fuel loading whilst conditions were more favourable than the hot summer months, these practices have been used by Indigenous Australians for thousands of year to manage lands. Timing is key to minimise intensity and concentrate fires to the ground cover rather than the tree canopy therefore reducing consequences to both flora and fauna.
