Jane Davies, Proud Patriot (DOCUMENTARY & STREET 2025)

On the 31st of August 2025 around 5,000 people took to the streets of Melbourne in a demonstration against what they perceive as current mass immigration. Other anti-racism & pro-Palestinian groups were present to counter protest & at times the groups clashed. Around the time Thomas Sewell, the leader of the self-proclaimed Neo-Nazi group the National Socialist Network, was speaking out the front of Parliament House, things were somewhat calmer a couple of blocks away where the police were forming blockades ready to continue their efforts of keeping the groups separated once the speeches ended. A solo man waved his Australian flag in the middle of the street & I captured this moment as he crouched in front of the police lines.
