Eliz Le, No More Dead Weight (PEOPLE & PORTRAIT 2025)
“No More Dead Weight” is a meditation on renewal and the shedding of what no longer serves us. Through symbolic gestures — burdens imagined as balloons, innocence recalled through childhood memory, and the quiet metamorphosis of self — the work reflects on how growth requires both honouring the past and releasing it. What remains is not loss but liberation: a reminder that freedom comes from patience, kindness, and the courage to step into transformation. Captured on the land of Meanjin of the Turrbal and Jagera People.
