Yasmin Mund, Nirvana (ART & CONCEPTUAL 2026)
An absolute analog, hyperreal dream - curated by the universe. This was a beautiful accident. A creation that was completely out of my conscious control, but absolutely done by me. In our world of increasingly manufactured and prompted ‘reality’. This feels like a relief. Shot on 35mm film, accidentally twice. ‘Two’ rolls of film overlay to create something more than either or. Sicily meets a newly explored Tasmania. Sunflowers tie both worlds together, beaches of Sicily overlaid with sunflowers in the Tasmanian sunshine. As a photographer and artist you are constantly striving to take ‘the shot’. And this was a big surprise, relief and delight to have the control taken away, but the results delivered. I’ve been looking more and more for layers in my work and this is the ultimate example of depth that keeps giving. The more you look the more to find. Thanks to film for keeping it real.
