This image is from a series in which I documented a Bali Cremation. A heartwarming experience of joy and sadness, loss and hope. The Hindu people of Bali believe a person's soul remains trapped within their body until a proper cremation ceremony is performed. The ritual cremation allows the soul to be freed and ascend to the heavenly realms.
