Christine Hall, Natural Glacial Tunnel (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2026)

The Katla Ice Caves are natural glacial chambers located inside the Kötlujökull glacier in southern Iceland. Named after the infamous active Katla volcano hidden beneath the ice cap, these caves are famous for their dramatic, marbled walls of bright blue glacial ice and striking black volcanic ash. Katla is one of the rare natural ice caves accessible all year round without collapse.
