Ngaire Hart, Megaherbs on Campbell Island (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2025)

Campbell Island has a flora display second to none. It is known for its megaherbs, herbaceous perinnels wildflowers with huge leaves and very colourful flowers hanging onto the cliff face. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. This trip to the Subantartic Islands, in the Southern Ocean, half way to Antartica, provided countless moments, that left me in awe and this was one of them. It is a journey less than 1000 people have the opportunity to take and only has one hour of sunlight for on 225 days, it was raining and heavy mist on our zodiac but was still able to get this shot.
