Evie Annette Taylor, Medusa's Temptation (PEOPLE & PORTRAIT 2025)

This portrait reimagines Medusa as a woman who owns her power. Her face is turned away, yet her presence fills the frame. The serpent is no longer a curse but an extension of her strength, and the tattoos mark her body as her own story. The red and blue light creates tension and allure, forcing the viewer to confront their gaze. She is not an object to be looked at but a figure in control of her narrative. Technical Notes: Created in collaboration with my model Destiny and a live snake. Shot on a Sony A7RV with a GM II 24–70mm lens, using two LED light bars at Frankx Studio in Queensland, Australia. Post-production included colour saturation to blend light into skin, masking to enhance tattoos and background clarity, and careful retouching in Photoshop to remove distractions while preserving authenticity. Her seated posture anchors her presence, emphasising weight and control in the composition.
