Fiona Bowring, Living the dream: with boat (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2026)
In 2026 the national psyche is scarred by a schism between the Haves and the Never Wills, shorthand for which are home owners versus renters and Baby Boomers versus ‘the Rest’. This image comes from a series in which dwellings often bask in the gentle light of the golden hour, a liminal space which reflects the warmth of the day past and hints only benignly at the coming dark. The lucky occupants are sheltered from all storms. While each home is arguably modest in its scope, collectively they are fortressed, unassailable, remote, unattainable.
