Taylor Aspinall, Light and Dark (DOCUMENTARY & STREET 2026)

My series - Architectures of Light is an exploration of Melbourne's urban environment through light, shadow, structure and perspective. Working in black and white, I look for moments where architecture becomes graphic and atmospheric — where angles, repetition and changing light transform familiar streets and spaces. Through an observational approach, I focus on the overlooked details of the built environment, finding rhythm, contrast and quiet tension within the everyday city.
