Fiona Bowring-Greer, John Bowring, Special Effects Armourer (PEOPLE & PORTRAIT 2025)

John’s worked in film for 50 years. He finds, creates and modifies weapons to suit a film’s era, budget, and the director’s imagination. While training stuntspeople and actors to look their part and advising on action sequences, his paramount concern is safety. In his high security workshop John says, ‘I have one of almost anything you can think of, and sometimes two’. Here he holds an 1853 musket from Wolverine. John’s most famous work is That Knife from Crocodile Dundee. John is the second of my three brothers.
