Tania Pendlebury, I am here. (PEOPLE & PORTRAIT 2025)
This photograph is part of a twelve-image series titled “You’ll like Simone, but Tania takes a bit of getting used to.” The title stems from a remark that encapsulates a long struggle with being perceived as different. The work explores themes of identity, perception, and belonging, particularly in women’s portraiture, where external judgments often obscure authentic self-expression. Through this series, I challenge these imposed views and instead celebrate individuality and the freedom to define oneself.
