Heidi Beverley, Golden Dunes (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2026)

The Namibian coastal town of Swakopmund has huge sand dunes right next to the Atlantic Ocean and cool weather (due to the Benguela current coming up from Antartica). It is a desert with annual rainfall of half an inch and few plants survive on dew. This aerial image was taken on a cold late afternoon, at the time of golden light with an incoming sea fog.
