Andrew Tan, Escape IV (ART & CONCEPTUAL 2024)
Imagine the Polaroid camera as a liminal telescope, offering a glimpse into another dimension. The plastic fish, symbolic of artificial life, have crossed the boundary, escaping into our reality. The photograph represents an ethereal world, while the fish swim away, having breached the divide between the synthetic and the unknown. Inspired by the conceptual works of artists like Salvador Dali and Man Ray, I explore themes of transition, boundaries, and the tension between the real and the surreal.
