"Descent into the Blue" captures the essence of the calm before the storm. The green-blue colours of the ocean contrasts with the sky scaffolding the visual tension with emotion, echoed in the right angle of the wall to the left. The concrete ramp and walls guide the viewer's gaze to the turmoil beneath the surface of the waterline, while the milkcrates and a boat suggest regardless of the weather; human activity will persevere. This serene yet charged atmosphere invites reflection on the transient nature of the present allure of peace and the tensions that change evokes, thus creating a rich, evocative experience that resonates visually and psychologically.
