Guy Templeton, Common Ground (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2026)

Photographed at dusk, two storage tanks rise above a fringe of mangroves in a single frame. Mangroves store up to four times more carbon per hectare than terrestrial forests while the tanks store the hydrocarbons that supply much of the energy underpinning modern Australian life. Neither cancels the other. Somewhere between them, a transition is underway.
