Ngaire Hart, Campbell Island Cliffs (LANDSCAPE & ENVIRONMENT 2025)

The cliffs on Campbell Island are a prominent feature, sculptured by volcanic activity and erosion, with high colourful cliffs and caves. It has a steep ruggard terrain where the cliffs rise over 300 m. Being an ancient volcano the geographical lava flows and dykes are visible in the cliffs. Campbell Island is part of Subantartica below New Zealand. It is cold, cloudy, wet and windy climate with rain falling 325 days of the year, temperature of 6 degree and wind gusts over 96 kmph. The island is UNESCO protected and offers a rare chance to experience unspoiled natural beauty.
