Jenni Eakins, Blossom in Motion: Dance of the Scarlet Bloom (ART & CONCEPTUAL 2025)

Blossom in Motion is an image of a red hibiscus, shot in our garden. The flow, shape and colour in this single bloom become an enticing combination of costume and dancer. Scarlet petals swirl like ruffled skirts with each fold echoing the ‘clap’ of heel stomps on wood. Movement and fragrance fuse, transforming the garden into a dance floor where scarlet petals perform under warm lights. Where each twirl is a bloom, and every bloom is swirling display of colour and light. It’s almost as though the flower is trying to take flight.
