Benjamin Hams, Between the Catch (DOCUMENTARY & STREET 2026)

I came across this man while wandering through the Negombo Fish Market in Sri Lanka. He had just finished filleting a huge pile of fish and sat down on his stall for a well-earned break. As I approached with my camera, he looked straight down the lens and I took the shot. I love how much of his story is told without needing to know anything about him. The stained apron, mismatched gloves and the mess left from a morning's work, all topped off by that incredible stare. For a brief moment amongst the chaos of the fish market, everything just seemed to stop.
