Natalie Finney, Still Life with Price Tags (ART & CONCEPTUAL 2025)
This work reimagines the Dutch still life through the lens of consumer culture. A lavish bouquet of artificial flowers, their stems still marked with barcode stickers and dollar-store tags, overflows from a Coke bottle vase. Surrounded by symbols of excess and impermanence, its grandeur is undercut by retail cheapness. With every element synthetic, the image challenges ideas of authenticity and value, reflecting on what endures when the real is replaced by imitation.
